Crash Victim Identified, Community Remembers

Family members identified the teen killed in Saturday's crash.

The teenager killed in a weekend auto accident has been identified by family members as 16-year-old Austin Perdue of Mont Clare.

Perdue, a rising sophomore at Spring-Ford Area High School, was killed when he was ejected from the back seat of a car that crashed on Longford Road in Upper Providence.

A memorial page was created on Facebook, which at last count had over 200 members.

"We were all very fortunate to have you in our lives even for the short time you were here, you made an impact on the lives of many, your [sic] were full of life and your personality was one of the most colorful of anyone we have ever met," posted Tuesday Rosenberger.

Multiple tweets refering Perdue were also posted on Twitter.

"R.I.P austin perdue... miss you on the football field man," posted Mark Bonomo.

Perdue's death marks the second loss in as many months for Spring-Ford High School and the Spring-Ford Rams. Rams player Bryan Clarke was kiled in an accident in July.

The Spring-Ford school board held a moment of silence for Perdue and Clarke at Monday night's school board meeting.

According to posts on Facebook, funeral arrangements are still pending.

I am aware we do not know each other but I want to do something to help. Again please do not hesitate to reach out to me.....This is really sad.

A tragic loss. My prayers go out to his family. May his friends always remember the good times with their friend and rely on each other for strength.

So sorry to hear about this, we prayed for the victim on Sunday at Greentree church but had no idea it was a local young man. I too live in Mont Clare and my youngest child just graduated from Spring-Ford. My thoughts are with you.
