Patch Picks: Don't go hungry this Super Bowl Sunday

If you're hosting a Super Bowl party at home, here's a quick reference guide to Norristown's top take out and delivery joints

If you're one of the many fans who opted to throw a Super Bowl party at home, fret not, as Norristown Patch has you covered. Here's a list of five great places to get your game grub.

1)  Gino's Ristorante and Pizza, 2401 W. Main St.; 610-539-0155

Known for its great portion size and even greater taste, Gino's is far and beyond the best place to order take out. While the restaurant isn't running any specials for the Super Bowl, feel free to check out the regular menu, as well as the catering menu.  You can't go wrong with either. Gino's won't deliver, but it's worth the trip to pick up.

2)  Main Street Pizzeria & Grill, 3140 Ridge Pike, Eagleville; 610-539-3305

Formerly Tommy's Hot Shop, Main Street Pizza takes pride in its wings and pizza.  Manager Jessica says, "Our wings are really good, and our pizzas are really awesome. We always have specials going on." The best part? If you don't feel like picking it up yourself, Main Street will deliver.

3)  Papa John's, 2810 Ridge Pike; 610-631-2300

For those who crave a commerical delight, check out Papa John's. "Our best Super Bowl special is any large pizza, any topings, any specialty pizza; it doesn't matter, as it's only $10,"  said Tim Van Demark, manager of the local Papa John's. "I can tell you that everything we make we prep in the morning – all our dough is fresh, as opposed to Pizza Hut, who gets everything frozen. We make everything on the spot, and our pizza is 100 percent fresh," said Van Demark. And obviously, Papa John's will deliver if you can't be bothered to get off the couch.

4)  Franzone's Pizzeria & Restaurant, Fifth & Dekalb Streets, Bridgeport; 610-275-0114

Franzone's has a number of specials worked out for the big game. "We have two cheesesteaks and a hoagie plus a six-pack for $18.50, a large pizza and a six-pack for $18.50, and a large pizza and a 12-pack for $22.50. We have other ones too, including a wing special,"  said the manager. And like any quality joint, Franzone's will bring it right to your door on the big day.

5)  Via Veneto Pizza, 1803 Markley St.; 610-279-5222

Everyone knows that Via Veneto's is the place to go for great pie, and the restaurant is anticipating a bit of business for the big game. There are a bunch of Super Bowl specials – 50 wings and a bottle of soda for $48, two large plain pizzas, 50 wings and a 2-liter bottle of soda for $48, as well as a bunch of others. And, of course, Via Veneto will deliver.
