Police: Theft from vehicles in Collegeville and Eagleville
A portable heater, valued at $100, was reported taken from Jim and Ralph’s Produce and a $1,500 plow mount from Kelley and Souder Auto Body.
Lower Providence Police were dispatched to Jim and Ralph’s Produce Shop, located at 3941 Ridge Pike in the Collegeville section of the township, for a reported theft.
Police met with the store’s owner on Nov. 12 at approximately 7:05 a.m., who said, he arrived at work at around 6:30 a.m. At that time, the owner started unloading delivery trucks, he noticed that several of the storage trailers on the property had been damaged. The owner said that he noticed the east door of the building had been pulled open, and while entry into the store looked to be attempted, it was not gained.
The owner told police that several of the trailers had their locks broken or damaged. In one forcibly opened storage trailer, the owner noticed that a Lawn Boy Porta-Heat heater was missing. It was described as new and valued at $100.
The owner also told police that the trailer truck that sits on the property was also accessed, and a cell phone charger was taken.
The business has been placed on the extra-patrol list.
Lower Providence Police also responded to a report of theft from a vehicle at Kelley and Souder Auto Body, located at 3241 Ridge Pike in Eagleville. The owner of the vehicle, a 1995 Chevy Suburban, was parked on the east side of the building for a couple of weeks, and said that he was thinking of selling it.
The owner told police, during the entire time the vehicle was parked there, it had a mount on its front for a Meyers plow. The owner did say he was thinking of removing the mount, but thought it would be safe there.
At approximately noon on Nov. 14, the owner said he left for lunch when he noticed that the plow was missing. He said that he had last seen the mount on Nov. 9, when he left work for the day. The owner informed police that, at the time of purchase, it was worth $1,500.
