Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Poll: How do we Abbreviate 'Lower Providence'?

Is it "LoPro" or "LowPro"? Are we crazy for even asking?

Residents of Lower Providence, we need your help. I'll be helping Patch Editor Gerry Dungan cover your community in the coming months and we have a bit of a philosophical conundrum before us – how do we abbreviate your name? Should it be "LoPro" or "LowPro"?

While it probably hasn't even crossed most people's minds, I assure you this is exactly the sort of thing that vexes us journalists who have to write pithy headlines. Our mission is to fit the best information in a confined space and we toss and turn at night considering the implications. I've even seen editors come to blows over proper abbreviation usage.

To save ourselves from any such fate and the ruination of our friendship, we're opening the question up to the community. You will decide your own identifying fate.

So take our poll below and answer the question once and for all. The winning abbreviation will be the official Patch style going forward. The losing editor will buy the other a beer.

Thank you all for your help in this Solomonic matter.

LP seems so boring. I'm trying to start the "LoPro" trend to make it sound more "hip." :)

If you knew anything about LP, it's anything but 'boring', esp. when it comes to politics. We're famous for that.

LP is typically how we are referred to. So is LPT.

It's official – we'll go with "LP" from now on. Thanks for the input. Crowd-sourcing at its finest! :)
