Montco SAAC honors Karen Conicelli

Montco SAAC is honoring selected volunteers at the Pre-Derby dinner dance and fundraiser. Ms. Connicelli has been a volunteer Meals on Wheels driver, delivering meals to Norristown area shut-ins for the past nine years.

“She never tires of the job, making a short friendly visit at each stop and cheering up her clients. She goes above and beyond the call of duty filling other needs when she can,” says Meals on Wheels Coordinator Jean Hjorth.

Also being honored are Geraldine Coffield and Iana Thomas who volunteer four days a week to help run the SAAC’s Fifth Avenue Thrift Shop. “We have lost some of our volunteers  this year and Ms. Coffield and Ms. Thomas  have stepped in filling the gaps. The shop provides much needed help in underwriting the cost of SAAC’s programs,” states Director of Health and Wellness, Susan Edgren.
