Benefit Planned For Valley Forge Beef & Ale Staff

Neighboring pub Audubon Ale House is holding a fundraiser for staff members of the Valley Forge Beef & Ale who lost their jobs when the popular spot closed due to fire.

Area residents aren't the only ones suffering from the loss of the popular Valley Forge Beef & Ale on Trooper Road in Audubon. When the bar nearly burned down on Feb. 16, more than 25 employees lost their livelihoods.

Owner Brian Flaxman told reporters he would like to rebuild the business, but in the meantime his employees are searching for new jobs in a still-troubled economy.

Enter the Audubon Ale House.

Just up the road at 2812 Egypt Road in Audubon, the neighboring pub is being neighborly and holding a beef & beer fundraiser on Saturday, March 9, to help support the now jobless staff. The event kicks off at noon and tickets are on sale now for only $30 per person.

Staff at the Audubon Ale House say owner Hugo Mazzalupi is the big-hearted organizer of the benefit, but attempts to reach him for comment have been unsuccessful. Mazzalupi may be too modest to take credit for the great idea, but Patch applauds his efforts.

Call the Audubon Ale House at 610-666-1399 for more information.
