Georges' on the Main Line will opened its doors for the final time on Wednesday. While the restaurant initially planned to conclude its business on July 7, it will no longer be open for the holiday weekend.
George Perrier, the previous owner of both Georges' and Philadelphia's Le Bec-Fin, was no longer owner of the Wayne location sometime between March and February, according to general manager Aaron Kavulich. But the restaurant stayed open until this month.
The current ownership group, Herb and Karen Lotman, will retain ownership of the restaurant. They will reopen the doors with a "new concept" that is still being finalized by the end of July, Kavulich told Radnor Patch.
"It took some time and planning," Kavulich said. "We had an awful lot of commitments for long-term parties that we needed to attend to."
Kavulich added that the "core staff members" will remain, including the management, executive chef, front-of-house employees and key service persons.
