Valley Forge Diner Opens on Route 23

It's the second diner/sports bar for a Main Line restauranteur and it's now open in what used to be Frank's.

Driving past along Route 23 between Valley Forge National Historical Park and Phoenixville it's hard to miss the signs announcing a new owner and a new restaurant and a new name in the landmark Phoenixville building that used to be home to Frank's Sports bar.

Valley Forge Family Diner is now open on Route 23 in a building that looks from the street much more like a colonial Inn than a Greek diner.  Inside the restaurant features not only a large, open dining area but a newly redesigned bar with lots of seating and a large bar dining area, a back deck, a banquet room that can seat about 100 and two intimate, smaller private dining areas that feature fireplaces and decor reminiscent of the colonial era.

Dany's is owned by the same family that bought Dany's Paoli Diner on Lancaster Avenue in Paoli a few years ago. Manager Passen Attalla says Valley Forge Diner's executive chef has also been brought in to help launch the new restaurant which opened to the public at the end of May.

The menus are very similar with a wide selection that includes "Greek Diner" food and which reflects the "diner" in the new name.

Prices range from $5.99 for a turkey burger up to $13.99 for a veal cutlet parm with two sides & soup or salad.  The take out menu features 10% off coupons for purchases of $25 or more and a kids eat free deal offers one kids meal with the purchase of adult meal Monday-Thursday for dine-in orders only. Breakfast is available all day.
