Enter Patch's “Deck the House” Contest For a Chance to Win $100,000

Did you decorate your house for the holidays this year? Enter our "Deck the House" contest and you could win $100,000 for your local school district and $500 to pay your electric bills!

We’re launching our annual Deck the House Contest to find the most over-the-top holiday decorations in America—the best “decked” house in the country—the one home so spectacularly decorated that everyone in town jokes your holiday decorations could rival Rockefeller Center’s.

If this sounds like your house, upload a photo or video of your home to our contest page from Nov. 26 to Dec. 16. Check back with Patch on Monday

Only residents of Patch towns are eligible to enter. We’ll select 24 regional finalists, and from them, pick one grand prize winner. Patch will pay up to $500 of the utility bill for each finalist, while our national winner will have $100,000 donated to his or her local school district.

Our contest is right around the corner, so now’s the time to get your holiday decorations out of the attic and “deck” your house.

After all, ‘tis the season...

James there is a house on Cooke La. that we call the Norristown Griswold's I don't know the people but they go all out with their lights. It brings us pleasure every year!

BTW many of us like the way you include pleasant items and just not the news. Enjoy reading about the positive things that are happening in the community. Keep up the good work!

Don't worry, MzPaula. I'm going to keep covering everything – the serious news and the lighter stuff. And Roy, I promise that people do win.

So nice to finally know your name! We first noticed your lights when we were coming from Genuardi's. It was when my son and nephews were little kids and they are in their forties. We are taking our grandchildren now. It is one of the highlights of the Christmas season. Thanks you so much for the joy you have brought us. We appreciate it. GOD Bless you and your family.Happy Holidays.

Thanks James ,
This is just what we need. Everyone loves the lights and those who put in the time are worthy of a picture and just maybe $500. 1000 block of Buttonwood, half the block goes all out every year, very well done. I love to drive by on my way home. Thanks Buttonwood:) Lighten up Roy....... its Christmas ,

well actually Dave , there are 2 homes that are literrally in the direct path of the center line ofRead More the sewer- I'm afraid if the sewer is permitted to go thru they would have to condemn them - the blasting would be so close- I don't think the houses could sustain it- they are built on pillars because their so close to the water- they are beautiful waterfront homes! full of children who go swimming and just love their homes and the creek.. the sewer would go right thru their well water lines and septic systems.. when there is another alternative right across the creek!

yes and don't foget we will be left with manholes where 100 yrs old trees use to be- a big 70ft wideRead More swath-like a bowling alley, losing all our privacy and shade we will never see the regrowth in our life time.:(

they don't care about us or their civic duty- I'm sorry but they made themselves very clear tonightRead More when after 3 yrs of pleading with them and even after DEP caught them in their deceptions with the 537 plan- they still chose to condemn us-- if they could just see the real people whose lives they are ruining forever but i forgot they don't care... well thank you Lower Providence for standing by us and thank you Trappe for standing with us.. Trappe was the only other township who cared!
