Running For (and which year will the term end?): Methacton School Board Director (November, 2017).

Positions Held Previously (both in and out of politics):

-Current: Methacton United Soccer Coach

-Current: Regional/Brand Manager (Dietz & Watson….employed for nearly 20 years)

Why are you running for office: I love my 3 kids! (5th grade @ Skyview Upper Elementary, 3rd Grade @ Worcester Elementary, and 1st Grade @ Worcester Elementary)….and all kids in my community!  I love my township, and I want to contribute and give back to my community….especially to our students!

What do you think are the biggest issues you would face in office: The ever-increasing School tax, balancing the school budget,  and of course, the lights on the high school football field.

….BUT, for me, my biggest concern & focus is providing our kids with the best opportunities for their “overall well-being!”  This means, not only providing a first rate education, but also making sure our students are happy…..and want to go to school.

If elected, what would you aim to accomplish:    

·      Add Foreign  language curriculum in the elementary schools…..the world is getting smaller!  Thus, knowing multiple languages is critical to our kids’ success (no matter what job field our students’ get into in the future).

·      Encourage all of our students to participate in the arts….which is so important in their creative development.

·      READ! READ! READ!....so that reading becomes second nature to our kids.  I would like all students to read at least 30 minutes daily (above and beyond homework).

·      Attract and maintain the best teachers….next to our family & friends, our teachers have the most influence on our students.

·      Find resolution to the lights on the football field…ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!

What else would you like residents to know about you? I have 3 wonderful boys in school district….and like all of you, want the best for them!  So I have a vested interest for wanting to be a Methacton School Board Director. I want our kids to enjoy going to school!  In the end, their happiness is the most important thing!
