Community Corner

Follow the Music from the Studio to the Stage

For over 20 years, Community Music School (CMS) in Trappe has been a valuable cultural resource in the community and offers the highest quality music instruction to students though out the region, as well as first-class performances by musicians of renown.

CMS is a non-profit organization where music education is at the core of its programming.  With its recently expanded and renovated facility includes 18 teaching studios and a 200-seat performance hall, students can find instruction on nearly every instrument and voice.  Regardless of age or prior musical experience, CMS offers music instruction programs to meet individual needs.  In addition to private lessons, programs of instruction include Milestones in Music for young children, instrumental ensembles, a variety of music enrichment classes as well as Suzuki based instruction and summer camp programs.

New students are encouraged to sign up for an interview lessons with a CMS teacher.  During the 30-minute interview lesson students and parents will have a chance to meet the instructor, ask questions and get a sense of what will take place in lessons each week. The cost for a 30-minute interview lesson is $25.00.
