Ursinus College String Ensemble Concert Featuring Field Hockey Coach as Violin Soloist

The Ursinus College String Ensemble will perform on Saturday, April 6, at 7:30 p.m. in Bomberger Auditorium. The program will feature Ursinus Field Hockey team coach Janelle Benner as violin soloist in J.S. Bach’s Concerto for Violin in A minor. The student chamber group, The Ursa Major Quartet, will perform Mozart’s String Quartet No. 21 in D Major.


This event is free and open to the public.


Benner earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music Education with a focus in violin performance from Old Dominion University and a Master of Education from Cabrini College. While at Old Dominion, she was the concertmaster of the Old Dominion Symphony Orchestra and 1st chair violinist of the Diehn String Quartet. She also taught music in the Manheim Central School District.
