The Gospel Choir from the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany will present a concert on Saturday, May 11 at 7 p.m. at Augustus Lutheran Church in Trappe, PA.
The choir, under the direction of Thomas Herzer, is over 30 members strong. It was founded as an outreach program for people who have a desire to sing the great American Spirituals and Gospel music. The choir sings the music in English.
The Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany was built around the turn of the 16th Century. It is the site where in 1517, Martin Luther nailed his 95 Thesis on the door, which many consider the beginning of the Protestant Reformation.
The concert is being co-hosted by Augustus Church and Trinity Church in Collegeville.
