This will be a weekend long event celebrating the birth of America's first President. On Saturday the 15th over 2,000 members of the Boy Scouts of America will be taking part in the 102nd Annual Pilgrimage and Encampment at Valley Forge. The scouts will be camping overnight, hiking, and learning about the significance of the park. Sunday, the park is planning on having the Second Pennsylvania Regiment, a local living history reenactment group, demonstrate artillery and recreate an interpretation of the camp life during that cold winter at Valley Forge. On President's Day the park will host a birthday party for General Washington. Guests will have a chance to make him a birthday card, try on continental clothing, and meet the General and Mrs. Washington. The Culinary Arts Institute of Montgomery County Community College designed the President a birthday cake and there will be a ceremonial song and cutting of the cake. Afterwards you are welcome to "Join the Continental Army"!
