Blackbird Circle Fire Determined an Accident

A family of four was displaced after their home was destroyed.

Lower Providence Township Fire Marshals, the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Unit and the Montgomery County Detectives’ Arson Unit completed their investigation into the origin of a fire that obliterated a home in the 2000 block of Blackbird Circle, in the Audubon Ridge subdivision of Lower Providence on Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Officials found that the initial fire was an accident, and that it started at or nearby the bottom of a fireplace firebox. Officials also determined that the firebox’s wooden structural members were involved.

The Red Cross is providing temporary housing for the family of four who were displaced by the fire in their home.
