Felon Jailed for Firing Gun Near Apartment Complex

A felon prohibited from possessing a firearm was sentenced to 3-6 years in state prison after firing a gun outside of a Lower Frederick apartment building in March. A Royersford woman was charged with supplying the gun.
Daniel Defreitas, 31, of Lower Providence, pleaded guilty to felony charges of persons not to possess a firearm after he shot the gun on March 25 on Second Avenue in the township.
According to the Lower Frederick Township and Pennsylvania State police, Defreitas was visiting a female friend in the apartments when he began shooting a gun into a tree eight feet behind a building.
Two women, Desiree Cucolo, 32, of Lower Frederick and Kristy Willson, 34, of Royersford also pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the incident.
Cucolo was arrested on April 1 for allegedly shooting the handgun, and was charged with recklessly endangering another person and disorderly conduct, according to police. She pleaded guilty to recklessly endangering another person and received probation.

According to police, Willson provided the gun that was fired by Defreitas and Cucolo. She was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, illegal sale or transfer of firearms, lending firearm, and hindering apprehension or prosecution, police said.
Willson is currently awaiting a pretrial conference on her charges.
