Fire Damages Apartment Building and Red Cross Offers Assistance

The Red Cross has offered its assistance to four people who were affected by an apartment building fire in Upper Providence on Tuesday.

The Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania had made itself available to help four people who were dislodged by a fire that affected an apartment building on Bridge Street close to Jacobs Street in Upper Providence Tuesday morning, according to The Phoenix Reporter & Item.

The fire, which was located near the Black Rock Fire Company headquarters, began around 8:50 a.m. Fire stations from Lower Providence, Phoenixville, Black Rock, King of Prussia, Kimberton, Valley Forge came to the scene, and the fire was extinguished before 10 a.m. came about. Trappe Ambulance responded, as well.

One of the people will be able to leave this hospital soon, two people indicated that they did not need assistance, and one person did not yet respond to The Red Cross yet, said Dave Schrader, the chief Communications officer for the local Red Cross.
