Mann Avenue Home Fire in Lower Providence Spelled Death for Animals Inside

When Lower Providence firefighters arrived at the 2600 block of Mann Avenue after 2 p.m. on Tuesday to attend to a house fire, they first saw smoke and then flames, according to The Times Herald.

The fire started in the back of the home and the firefighters entered the front of the building to extinguish it on the inside.   

According to Lower Providence Fire Chief Bryan McFarland, the police had removed a woman who had been the only person in the house at the time. Firefighers found that a dog and two cats had died inside in the fire.

The Jeffersonville, Collegeville and Worcester fire companies responded to the scene, as well. The Lower Providence EMS arrived, but no one was taken to the hospital.
