According to Lower Providence Police, Richard Marshall Leibried, Jr., 24, was reportedly found with several small bags of heroin, each stamped with “007,” as well as a needle in his sock, after being pulled over for erratic driving.
Leibried, of the 1700 block of Meadowview Lane in Mont Clare, was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, along with other related charges.
According to a Lower Providence police report, on Dec. 14, at approximately 8 p.m., Cpl. Michael Slattery was on routine patrol, traveling eastbound in the area of the 2600 block of Egypt Road.
The report states that a vehicle was observed drifting off to the shoulder westbound, before abruptly coming back onto the roadway, only to soon drift onto the eastbound traveling lane.
Slattery then conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle. The driver was identified as Leibried, who was reported to have difficulty producing his identification. The officer noted that an odor of alcohol was detected off of Leibried.
Upon submitting to a field sobriety test, resulting in the Slattery’s judgment that Leibried was incapable of safe driving, the officer observed several small, blue “baggies” on the driver’s floor.
According to the report, each baggie held, white powdery substances, which later was tested and found to be heroin.
When asked if he had anymore narcotics with him, Leibried told police that he had hidden a needle within his left sock. The police report states ath several more baggies, each stamped with “007” were found bundled with the needle.
A supplemental police report described the needle as a hypodermic needle, which was uncapped. This supplemental report noted that another officer observed Leibried with fresh blood stains on his right hand.
By 9:06 p.m., Leibried had been detained and was transported to Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
