Truck Takes Down Power Line in Lower Providence

A Ryder truck hit a low-hanging power line in the parking lot of a Lower Providence business, taking down the line and nearly shearing the entire roof off the truck

A Ryder truck making deliveries to a business in the Lower Providence area took down a power line shortly before 11 a.m. on Wednesday, and nearly sheared the roof entirely off of the truck in the process.

Witnesses say the truck pulled into the rear parking lot of the building at Trooper Road and Eisenhower Avenue occupied by property management firm The Wentworth Group and hit the power line, which then began to peel back the roof of the truck and nearly take down two utility poles in the process.

Power and telephone service weren't interrupted according to a representative from the Wentworth Group and it's unknown if the driver of the truck will receive a citation. Neighboring businesses also reported no interruptions in service.
