Woman Convicted of Sneaking Marijuana into Lower Providence Jail

An Upper Darby woman who said it was a “mistake” to sneak marijuana in to her boyfriend as he was incarcerated in the Montgomery county jail in Lower Providence last year may soon be in jail herself, according to The Times Herald.

Lashima Phillips, of the 7200 block of Glenthorne Road, was convicted in Montgomery County Court of furnishing contraband to an inmate, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, and possession of marijuana in relation to the July 15, 2012 event where she furnished approximately 13 grams of marijuana to Rashad Johnson, her boyfriend, while he was incarcerated.

After Phillips’s day-long, non-jury trial, Judge William R. Carpenter pronounced the verdict.
