The work is part of PennDOT's $2.2 million on-demand project to repair bridges in the Philadelphia region.

The following information was provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation:

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced that the right lane will be closed on westbound and eastbound U.S. Route 422 between Route 23 and Route 363 (Trooper Road) in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, next week (Dec. 16-18) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for structural steel repair on the bridge over the Schuylkill River and Norfolk Southern railroad tracks.

Route 422 motorists are advised to allow additional time for travel because slowdowns will occur.

The work is part of PennDOT’s $2.2 million on-demand project to repair bridges in the Philadelphia region.

Loftus Construction, Inc. of Cinnaminson, N.J. is the general contractor on the project that is financed with 100 percent state funds.
