Residents asked to Consider Postponing Halloween in Lower Providence

The township is asking residents to postpone Halloween until Nov. 2.

Lower Providence Township sent out an update about this year’s Halloween via its alert system:

Hello, this is Lower Providence Township calling concerning Halloween activities for this evening. The Lower Providence Township Board of Supervisors has determined that parents consider postponing Trick or Treating for their children until Friday evening, November 2, 2012, in light of the current conditions in many neighborhoods that continue to experience power outages, low hanging tree limbs and trees on wires. We encourage parents to exercise their best judgment and discretion. The primary concern of Lower Providence Township is the health, safety and welfare of our residents. Thank you and goodbye.
