Methacton SD Appoints New Superintendent

After an extensive search, the district offered the position to David Zerbe, who has 20 years of experience in education.

Methacton School District has chosen David A. Zerbe as their new Superintendent of Schools, which became official after the district’s Board of School Directors appointed him at their Tuesday meeting, according to a district press release. 

The board conducted an extensive search before offering the position to Zerbe, who will begin his new position on or before Oct. 20, through June 30, 2017.

In his last employment he was an Assistant Superintendent of the Swiftwater, Pennsylvania Pocono Mountain School District in Swiftwater, a position that he has held since 2008. Previous to that he held administrative positions at the Schuylkill Intermediate Unit.

According to the district, Zerbe has leadership experience at the school district, vocational, and intermediate unit levels.  He has 20 years of experience in the field of education.

"Dr. Zerbe has demonstrated that he has the knowledge, expertise, and character necessary to uphold the standard of excellence that the Methacton community has come to expect from our school district," said Board President Joyce Petrauskas. "The Board is excited to welcome him to Methacton and begin a new school year with great leadership in place."
