King of Prussia Wins Much-Needed Victory Over Trooper in Perky League

The King of Prussia Cannons, who have not been their strongest this Perky League season, were able to best the Trooper Tribe on Monday night in Lower Providence, despite having come into the game at 5-16, according to The Times Herald.

The hot weather seemed to tug on both teams, but King of Prussia were able to shoot down Trooper at 8-3.

King of Prussia had two first-inning runs by hits from John Campbell, AJ Koscelansky, Robert Friskey, and Kyle Gaffney.  Neither team scored in the second inning but in the third Trooper also had two of their own runs by Drew Frankenfield’s RBI single and Mitchell Bennett’s sacrifice fly.

Both Trooper and King of Prussia scored again, but the King of Prussia scored more, with Friskey and Gary Rowan scoring in the seventh inning.

“We definitely needed this win going into the last week,” said King of Prussia manager Josh Walcoby post-game. “We had to win a couple games to get into the playoffs.”
