Electrical Workers Minority Caucus of Local 380 Continues Community Service in Norristown

Union members gathered on Saturday to replace broken lights at the Fraternal Order of Police memorial in Norristown.

A good deed was done in Norristown today when the Electrical Workers Minority Caucus (EWMC) of the Electrical Workers Union IBEW 380 came together on Saturday to replace broken lights at the Fraternal Order of Police memorial at the base of the Montgomery County Courthouse, according to Tyrone M. Baker, EWMC president.

Electrical Workers Minority Caucus of Local 380 is based in Collegeville and has members throughout Montgomery county, including Norristown. This is not the first service to the community that the EWMC has done this year; in November they worked together with the Norristown Fire Department to install free smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors in about 50 Norristown homes.

According to Baker, the EWMC participates in a number of community service projects though the county, and they “look forward to working with community leaders in 2014.”
