Methacton Shut Out by Boyertown in PAC 10 Championship

Warriors only had one hit in a championship loss to the Bears.

The Methacton Warriors' dreams of a PAC 10 championship came to a close on Wednesday night, as two pitchers from the Boyertown Bears combined to throw a one-hitter in the Pioneer Athletic Conference championship game. Patch editor Alyson D'Alessandro was on the scene snapping up photos from the game, and though the Warriors lost, she was able to capture some nice images of the team as its otherwise-successful season came to an end. Check out the photos in our gallery, and if you have your own, feel free to add to it by clicking the upload button.

Methacton to Hold Seventh-Annual Post Prom Golf Outing

The Post Prom Golf Outing will help support the Methacton High School after prom night.

The Methacton Post Prom Golf Committee is asking golfers to practice their swing for the upcoming seventh-annual Post Prom Golf Outing. According to the committee’s website, www.golf4methacont.org, proceeds from the golf-outing help defray costs in organizing the annual Methacton High School Post prom. “The Methacton High School Post Prom Event provides a safe all-night celebration to attendees after the prom. Statistically, prom night and graduation are the two highest risk nights for teenagers. The Post Prom Event requires a considerable budget which is achieved through fundraising efforts throughout the year,” states the website. The golf outing will take place July 13 at the Club at Shannondell, located in Audubon, and will have an 11 …

Methacton Scout Re-Righting History in North Wales

Eagle Scout candidate Matt Pellegrino recently organized a troop of volunteers to right tombstones and to rebuild part of the crypt of the first American-born Lutheran pastor in nearby North Wales.

A weight has finally been lifted off the shoulders of Silas and Barbara Land. All it took was a literal troop of about 30 volunteer scouts, friends, family, business owners and community members, some elbow grease and the determined leadership of Eagle Scout candidate Matt Pelligrino. The tripod and block and tackle helped a bit too. "It allows one man to do the work of 10," said one volunteer. "We've done six or seven so far. Even some doubles." Perhaps more impressive is the refurbishment of part of the crypt of the first American-born pastor to enter the Lutheran ministry: Rev. Jacob Van Buskirk.  The 16-year-old Pellegrino, a Methacton High School student and member of Troop 98 in Whitpain Township, was re-righting history in The Old …

As a graduate I can't say I agree with the college readiness. Yeah, they shove into our face how "vital" college is but don't a) prepare for reality outside of college or b) help explore alternatives to universities for those who can't afford it or don't learn well in a classroom environment. They think everyone around there comes from money just because some do, and that everyone learns the same…   more ›
