County is now under a 'winter weather advisory' and not a 'winter storm warning.'
The area of Montgomery County will now likely get less snow than originally predicted. The National Weather Service has reduced the area's warning down to a "Winter Weather Advisory." Last night, the NWS issued a Winter Storm Warning, declaring that four to eight inches of snow were expected for the county. However, today's forecast lessened the report to a now-expected one to two inches. "Accumulations of snow of one to at most four inches are expected," according to the latest advisory. The newest information from the NWS, located in Mount Holly, N.J., says that travel may still be possible now. The National Weather Service says those in Montgomery County, Pa. should expect some snow in the coming day with Winter Storm Nemo.
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, N.J. has issued a Winter Storm Warning in effect from 3 p.m. on Friday through 6 a.m. on Saturday. The storm in the Montgomery County area of Pennsylvania is expected to bring between four and eight inches of snow. "Heavy snow" and a "possible trace of ice" is expected in the storm. We may even see a rare winter thunderstorm, as two weather fronts collide to form what the Weather Service has called "Winter Storm Nemo." "Any snow Friday morning will change rain during the daylight hours then back to heavy snow late in the day Friday or Friday evening," said the NWS.
